Cool Trick…..making and selling Canvas Gallery Wraps. The file that I talk about is available on the Pro4uM, free for download. Three years ago when this was reliesed on the Pro4uM, “Reminders” was a new thing. Today, it is old news. However, the question is are you using it? Recently I had a commercial job where they had a very long and detailed list for me to do. By imputing that list into Reminders, I was kept very organized and on top of what I was hired to do. So, it may be old information, but new if you are not using it.

Just thinking in our video today about the “Unexpected Client”. This is the kind of person who is for example, just wanting a business head shot. By having a conversation, you find out that they also need additional image, a family portrait session, etc. Look for it and you can turn a $50 client into a $500 client. Our ability to sell while we are photographing is very valuable. So, look for the “Unexpected Client” and use your natural abilities to make the sale something better.

Do something you love. For example, this video shows me flying a drone. This “LOVE” is leading to jobs, and those jobs are leading to other jobs. It shows in your work, and people love hiring people who love their work. So LOVE what you do and show it.

We all have a comfort zone thqy we enjoy being in with photography. It may be the 70-200 lens or it may be certain setups outside, etc. But from time to time if we step out of our comfort zone and do things that really challenge all if out skills and talents. If we do that, is is one of the ways we can grow as a professional photographer. So check out this video and see my story of getting out of our comfort zone.

This was a personal project 3 years ago to post a video inspiration every day for a year. I ended up doing it for 2 years.

Start asking your clients, everyone, about family portraits. Every person on the planet all have a unique thing, based upon photography and that thing is “Family”. Family Portraits, everyone has family.

No matter who you are on the planet, you have a family. There are certain things that all humans do, eat, sleep, clothing, etc. But you do not have to have photography, it is a luxury.

HOWEVER, we all have family, and everyone feels their family is the best. So…..here is the question you should ask every client you do work for, when was the last time you had a family portrait, one that YOU were really, really proud of? Start asking this to your clients. The most common answer may be never.

So, here we are sitting right at the right moment to show that there is love in this family. If you focus on this one aspect of photography and ask every person this question, your family portrait business will skyrocket!!! Have a brochure ready, and give it the potential client.

This concept was introduced on the Pro4uM over 3 years ago. Since then thousands and thousands of photographers have benefited from this advice. Can you imagine what we are talking about now?

Say NO sometimes! When you got tons of catchup to do, it happens that someone comes in and wants to interact. They need you to do images, or do a job, or something. But, sometimes you just have to say no and do the job on another day. To stay organized and to keep everything moving in the right direction with you and your business, you will need to learn the word NO.
